Philadelphia features an extensive year-round calendar of festivals, which are held all around the city. During the summer vacation season, look out for the Manayunk Arts Fest, which reliably draws many thousands of visitors to the Delaware Valley area and almost 300 American artists, being first held in 1990.

Annual Philadelphia Festivals


  • January: Mummer's Parade, held each year on New Year's Day, with around 15,000 participants, parade through the streets of the city, with many wearing colorful and extravagant costumes

  • June: Manayunk Arts Festival, the biggest arts and crafts fair in the Delaware Valley area
  • September: Popnoise Festival, taking place during the middle of the month around the spacious campus of the University of Pennsylvania
  • September: Philadelphia Fringe Festival, attracting more than 1,000 artists each year
  • October: OutFest, a major gay pride event, known for its colorful processions and lively parties
